Discover Andalusia

Located in southern Spain, Andalusia is a colorful region with a rich history, a diversity of landscapes, exciting cities, small villages, impressive historic sights and friendly people. On this southern Spain tour of Andalusia, you’ll start and end on the Costa del Sol, and you’ll spend three nights in Seville and two nights in Granada.

Seville, the capital of Andalusia, has a history dating back to the 1st century BC. It is Spain at its most quintessential, with its fiery flamenco, Moorish splendor, fragrant gardens, and elegant plazas. Your local guide will show you, among other highlights, two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the 15th-century Cathedral of St. Mary, built on a former mosque, and the Alcazar, founded in the 11th century as a Moorish fortress. You’ll also have a full day in Seville to explore on your own and maybe taste the local specialties.

Granada is a city with more than 1,000 years of recorded history and is a good mix of both its Moorish and Christian past. With a local expert, you’ll visit Granada’s world-famous Alhambra complex, built as a lavish residence for Moorish kings in 889 AD. It is here that Ferdinand and Isabella gave an endorsement to Christopher Columbus for his voyage to the New World.

Other highlights of this Spain tour of Andalusia are visits to Ronda, one of Spain’s oldest towns established in the 9th century AD, and Cordoba, who’s iconic Mezquita—a former mosque that was turned into a Catholic cathedral—is considered one of the most remarkable examples of Moorish architecture outside of the Arab world.

As a bridge between Europe and Africa, Andalusia is a sun-kissed region filled with a deep history of many different cultures. On this affordable tour to Andalusia, you’ll see the region’s many highlights and learn about its fascinating history.
